Ingredients
1/2 cup warm water
1 tbsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp active yeast
2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp olive oil
3/4 cup vegan plain unsweetened yogurt
3/4 tsp salt
Oil for the pan
Vegan butter
1 tbsp Garden of Eden seasoning
Method
In small bowl, mix the water (it should be the temperature you would take a bath in, a little warmer than body temperature), sugar and yeast. Set aside for 10 minutes, it should become foamy on top.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yogurt, salt, olive oil with the water, yeast and sugar texture.
Transfer the dough on a clean surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
Transfer the dough in the mixing bowl and pour a little oil on the dough to ensure it doesn’t dry during the rise.
Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let rise for an hour (it should double in size).
Cut the dough into 8 or 6 pieces, depending on the desired size, and form little balls.
Roll each ball with a rolling pin until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
Heat up a pan on high eat and lightly oil it (with a oil that can handle eat, not extra virgin olive oil).
Place a piece of dough on the skillet. When it bubbles up nicely, it’s time to flip it.
It should be nice and bubbled with some charred spots on it. Cook the other side for about… seconds.
Repeat with all the pieces of dough.
Melt the butter and mix it with Garden of Eden seasoning.
Before serving, brush the naan breads with the butter
